Is your Swing Bed Program ready to provide Trauma Informed Care?

Trauma is defined as the result of an event or set of circumstances experienced by an individual as physically, emotionally harmful, or life-threatening that has lasting adverse effects on the individual.  Everyone who provides care in your hospital has experienced trauma, and that experience WILL impact how they interact and provide care for their patients.

When asked by a surveyor--Will your staff be able to speak to their Trauma Informed Care Training???  Any person that interacts with your Swing Bed Population must receive this training.

Federal rules require CAH Swing Bed programs to ensure that their staff has specific competencies addressing Trauma Informed Care and a system in place to provide the appropriate care.

Objectives:

  1. DEfine trauma awareness
  2. Be able to design ongoing staff trauma-informed care education programs
  3. Be aware of ways that trauma can impact your employees

Webinar will be presented by Kerry Dunning, MHA, MSH, CPAR, who has 31 years in healthcare consulting and over 40 years in the industry.  She specializes in the post-acute market working with hospital-based skilled nursing and swing bed programs, critical access hospitals, inpatient/outpatient rehab programs, and rural health care systems.
