Davis Announces Rural Development Grant Awarded to Jersey Community Hospital

U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) announced today that the Jersey Community Hospital District received a $150,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development.

The grant will be used to purchase and renovate a building that will be used to house the Hospital District's rural health clinic in Roodhouse that will provide treatment, counseling, education and outreach efforts to combat the opioid crisis in the area.

"One of the biggest ways we can fight the opioid epidemic is ensuring our communities have the resources they need," Davis said. "These funds will allow JCH Healthcare to expand their addiction services and better serve residents suffering from opioid addiction. Grants like these as well as legislation passed by Congress will help confront this epidemic from all angles."

"We are pleased to be receiving grant funding for improvements to our new facilities in Jerseyville and Roodhouse," said Jon Wade, CEO of JCH Healthcare. "JCH Healthcare is focused on combating the opioid epidemic in our region, and this funding will help further develop our opioid addiction services in Jersey and Greene counties as well as the neighboring communities."
