Brian Burnside named Carlinville Area Hospital’s new CEO

Brian Burnside, who began his role at Carlinville Area Hospital in August, is an award-winning leader in healthcare, bringing more than 20 years of experience in profit and non-profit sectors. Brian earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance at Westminster College in Missouri, as well as his master’s degrees in business administration and health services administration from Xavier University.

Brian leads with the principle of strategic and market growth. When coming on board earlier this fall, Brian immediately began to re-evaluate Carlinville Area Hospital and develop a data driven strategic plan to help set a new course for the hospital. "We’re looking at where we’re putting our resources and making sure those resources are in the right places,” said Burnside. “CAH is already a successful, nationally recognized organization. The services we provide are top-notch, but at the end of the day, we have to ask ourselves, are we accomplishing what we've set out to do at the capacity in which we are able to do it; and if not, how can we do better?" said Burnside.
Brian also believes in a strong culture. “Part of my job is to make sure we're providing a positive work culture for our employees. If successful, the positive internal culture will only enhance the patient experience provided by our staff," he concluded.
