HRSA announces loan repayment, scholarship opportunities for medical, nursing, behavior health, and dental students

Through the American Rescue Plan, $1 billion dollars has been made available for loan repayment and scholarships for medical providers, nurses, dentists, and other health professional clinicians through the National Health Service Corp (NHSC) and Nurse Corp programs.  There have been limited dollars in the past, and often rural site students and repayment applicants have not been approved because funding “ran out."  Funding is now available through the Health Services Resource Administration (HRSA) for these two programs.  If you know of medical, nursing, behavioral health and dental students who need of scholarships or you have hired individuals in need of loan repayment, please take advantage of this funding opportunity.  Please note below the deadlines for loan repayment and scholarships so act fast.

If you have any questions or your hospital would like to be a NHSC site for loan repayment recipients, please feel free to contact Max Kanner at max_kanner@durbin.senate.gov.  He is Senator Durbin’s Health Policy Advisory.  Also, you are welcome to email pschou@icahn.org at the ICAHN office (815-875-2999) to help direct you to the right resource.
