    Position Description:

    The EMS Resource Officer & Operations Coordinator is responsible for, operational, and strategic planning including facilitating relationships with outside agencies and facilities, as well as other operational support functions as assigned by the Transportation Service Line Manager. This position will also ensure compliance with company policies, State and Federal Laws, Rules and Regulations.

    This position is responsible for identifying, establishing, and maintaining relationships with Emergency Medical Service (EMS) agencies, fire departments, 911 Dispatch, Air Medical and communities throughout the Deaconess Health System referral area with the intent of gaining market preference.

    This position will participate in trauma, stroke, cardiac, and general EMS case review. Further, this position will work with other service line managers to assist in development and implementation of educational offerings on projects involving pediatric, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. This position will coordinate the EMS-related activities and duties which are the responsibility of Deaconess Hospital as a Resource/ Supervising Hospital for the State of Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.

    • Lead and motivate employees to advance employee engagement develop a high performing team
    • Oversee all operations and activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
    • Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics.
    • Review patient run reports in ESO for completeness, and accuracy.
    • Build trust relations with employees, and complete monthly rounding.
    • Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
    • Maintain a deep knowledge of state OSHA regulations, and monitor bases for compliance.
    • Recognition of general and management staff
    • Maintains professional relationships with medical facilities in the company’s service areas.
    • Monitor and coordinate the educational needs of the service.
    • Attend all departmental, state, and corporate meetings as directed.
    • Ensures compliance required by state laws.
    • Participate in professional organizations.
    • Coordinate, develop, and/or teach education programs/audit and review for the fire and EMS providers as aligned with EMS, fire and Deaconess priorities.
    • Teaching and coordinating PHTLS, teaching and coordinating RTTDC with Trauma Services.
    • Review of Trauma, Stroke, Cardio (CARES), and EMS run reports and present Performance Improvement event resolution to service lines.
    • Assist in promoting and coordinating EMS-related activities and celebrations, including EMS Week, EMS Symposium.

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare related field preferred. Minimum of one year employment with company (unless otherwise stated). Minimum of five (5) years EMT-Paramedic experience.

    Valid driver’s license, Valid Paramedic license, Valid teaching license (PI/LI) within one year of employment
