- Position Summary:
The National Center for Rural Health Professions (NCRHP) at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford is seeking an Assistant /Associate Professor for the Director of Rural Medical Education and Program Development for their Rural Medical Education (RMED) Program. The Director will serve as both a clinical provider and administrator for the RMED Program. He/she will be responsible for the educational experiences of RMED students as well as the relationship between the NCRHP and RMED initiatives in Illinois, regionally, nationally, and internationally. The Director will serve as mentor and advisor for rural medical students and as continuing mentor for RMED graduates.
Qualifications include MD/DO degree with eligibility for licensure in the state of Illinois and board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine (General), or Pediatrics. Extensive experience in and exposure to rural health issues and rural health care delivery, interest or experience in academic medicine and research, and knowledge or experience related to community-based health education are preferred.
