August 24 - Life Guard: An Introduction to Peer Support presented by Eunice Halverson, MA, CPPS
- Understand basic concepts of Second Victim.
- Increase the ability to have a critical conversation and understand the four key components of a supportive conversation including a tree- tiered support model.
- Describe the 6 elements necessary for a successful peer support program.
August 31 - Just Culture: Accountability for Patient Safety in EMS presented by Shelby Cox.
- Describe how mistakes happen, including the role of human behavior/choices and system failures in organizations.
- Describe how to conduct an effective investigation following a medical event.
