OVERVIEW:

It's time to PUMP UP your leadership! Leadership is complex. In today's health care, leaders can no longer dictate and demand outcomes. Now is the time to embrace new ways of thinking about leadership, engagement, and vulnerability. Realizing the importance of these elements will give you new strategies to improve relationships and outcomes.

CONTENT:

- Identify key attributes of an engaged and emotionally competent leader.
- Discover strengths in others and use the strengths to improve outcomes and job satisfaction.
- Realize as a leader you cannot be all things to all people.
- Describe the link between engagement and vulnerability.
- See new ways to be open to new ideas and new people.

PRESENTER:

Dr. Kimi Yuchs is currently an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences in Quincy, IL.  Dr. Yuchs has an extensive background in nursing, including staff nurse, long-term care administration, State of Illinois nurse consultant for the Department of Human Services, and acute care administration.  Her research interest focuses on the culture of poverty and attitudes toward poverty in health care.
