The National Rural Health Association is hosting a free webinar, "Tackling the Opioid Epidemic: Where to Begin" on Thursday, January 17, beginning at 2 p.m. CST. Target audience includes CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CMOs, CNOs, Directors of Nursing, Emergency Room Directors, Clinicians, and Medical Group Managers. Learning objectives include:
- Understanding the background of the opioid epidemic and how we got to where we are today
- Identifying strategies that can be employed at your organization and in your community to help reduce opioid misuse
- Discuss how people, process, and technology can help combat the opioid crisis in their community
Presenters include Dr. Michael Fadden and Alan Staples. Dr. Fadden joined Cerner in 2011 following a 30-year career in family medicine. As a director and Chief Medical Officer in the Physician Alignment Organization, he focuses primarily on creating value for clinicians across the country who use the Cerner CommunityWorks' model and general leadership of the Cerner PAO. As the executive sponsor of the Opioid Crisis Resource Center, Dr. Fadden is dedicated to creating a collaborative atmosphere for Cerner clients to identify and share best practices for managing pain more effectively, utilize opioids more safely and connect individuals struggling with substance use disorder to treatment more proactively.
