Diabetes and Periodontal Disease: More than Just a Sweet Spot
OVERVIEW: At the end of the webinar you will be better prepared to make recommendations for medical and dental co-management of patient’s with diabetes and/or periodontal disease by knowing what preventive and treatment methodologies are available.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- Identify oral manifestations of periodontal disease.
- Identify oral manifestations of diabetes: lichenoid reactions, xerostomia, dental caries, gingival hyperplasia.
- Identify the links between diabetes and periodontal disease: poor glycemic control, periodontal infections, yeast infections.
Dr. Kirk Noraian is a practicing periodontist who has lectured internationally about the management of periodontal disease. He has published and reviewed the works of others for publication on periodontal disease. He has served on the American Dental Association Council for Scientific Affairs and served as a consultant to the Journal of the ADA and ADA Seal Program for consumer products.
