Webinar

Please join ICAHN and our business partner, Nationwide Prescription Connection (NPC), along with representatives from Horizon Health and Pinckneyville Community Hospital, for a discussion on an innovative medication program that improves medication adherence, eliminates cost-related non-adherence, and decreases charity care and uncompensated care costs. During this presentation, NPC will show you how to build and implement a successful medication program, utilizing a combination of knowledge, training, technology, and a streamlined process.

It is no secret that prescription medications can be very expensive, and have become unaffordable to many. There is a huge communication gap between prescribing medications and having the ability to review with the patient whether they can afford them. In fact, one in four patients are unaware of their prescription financial responsibility until they are at the pharmacy purchasing their medications. Add the complexity of high deductible health plans, Medicare donut holes, and growing uninsured populations, and you end up with increased charity care and uncompensated costs.

During the webinar, we will discuss:

  • Gaps and challenges in the medication process
  • Prior authorizations
  • Patient communication strategies
  • Identifying opportunities within your community
  • Medication assistance opportunities
  • Next steps

Speakers include Leighsa Cornwell, RN, BS, CDE, Outpatient Clinic Manager-Endocrinology, Horizon Health; Deb Hale, RN, Clinical Care Coordinator, Family Medical Center, Pinckneyville Community Hospital; and Chastity Werner, CEO/President, Nationwide Prescription Connection.
