ICAHN is partnering with Dr. Bruce Berger, PHD, to offer "comMit: On-line Motivational Interviewing Training for Health Care Providers," now through September 30, 2022.

ComMIt was created by Bruce Berger, PhD, and William Villaume, PhD. to teach health care providers how to use the principles of motivational interviewing (MI) with patients to more effectively improve adherence with health behaviors and hence, produce better outcomes. The e-learning program is accredited  for 8 hours of approved continuing education credit for dietitians, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and social workers.  ICAHN is offering the six module e-learning program at a discounted rate.

Modules:

There are six modules in the 8-hour course. They include:

  • Introduction and Background
  • The Human Brain and Threat
  • Sense Making and Practical Reasoning
  • Developing Report and the Synergy of MI
  • Reflecting, Empathizing, Re-framing, and Exploring the Issue
  • Addressing the Issue: Resolving Patient Issues that Prevent Change

The learner has 90 days to complete this highly interactive program and receive CE credit. Learners may stop at any point in the program and then return to it where they left off.  Learners may also review each module completed as often as they would like during the three-month time. frame. The program has limited spaces available.

Cost:

ICAHN is offering a special course rate of $50 per person or $25 per person for gold and silver subscribers.
