DNA Day 2017 Webinar- Better Together: Culturally Competent Nursing Practice to Achieve Better Birth Outcomes for Latina and African American Mothers.

This program is designed for nurses and other healthcare practitioners who want to learn culturally competent ways of engaging with Latina and African American clients about the heritable concerns that may impact pregnancy outcomes.

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Identify the risk factors and barriers that prevent Latina and African-American woment from receiving little or no prenatal care.
  • Recognize the distinct health concerns during the prenatal period that are specific to Latina and African-American women.
  • Identify how to best educate this population of clients about these concerns.

The webinar will be recorded and available for two months after the live event.
