Margaret Scavotto’s experience helping health care providers solve complex health law problems brings a seasoned and in-depth perspective to the compliance needs of providers in today’s highly regulated environment. As a health law attorney, Ms. Scavotto helped providers with intricate issues involving HIPAA, RAC appeals, licensure, contracts and operations. At MPA, Ms. Scavotto continues to solve problems for her compliance clients, by developing and managing compliance solutions with policies and procedures, workforce and board education programs, and auditing strategies designed to improve processes and outcomes. Margaret has helped compliance leaders across Missouri address challenging compliance requirements through compliance workshops.
When practicing law, Ms. Scavotto devoted considerable time to pro bono work, serving as counsel to a local clinic serving indigent children, and securing a certificate of need for a not-for-profit children’s hospital.
Ms. Scavotto authored the Missouri portion of the American Health Lawyers Association’s State Healthcare Privacy Laws Survey.
Ms. Scavotto served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Kenneth M. Romines on the Missouri Court of Appeals. Ms. Scavotto received her BA (Political Science) from Kenyon College; and a JD from Washington University in St. Louis.
