PIO training available through FEMA's Emergency Management Institute

As a Public Information Officer for a critical access hospital, it's imperative you have a crisis communications plan in place.   • IS - 29: Public Information Officer Awareness
  • IS - 42: Social Media in Emergency Management (not a prerequisite, but very relevant and recommended)
  • IS - 100.HCb:  Introduction to Incident Command System for Hospitals and Healthcare Workers
  • IS - 200.HCa: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations
  • IS - 700.a: National Incident Management System: An Introduction
