The Crawford Memorial Hospital (CMH) Board of Trustees has announced it has accepted the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Don Annis, who is leaving the hospital this month after serving as CEO for 11 years. Cindy Bradley, an accomplished healthcare administrator who specializes in working with hospitals in an interim capacity, will join Crawford Memorial next week as the board begins a national search for a permanent new CEO.
“Don Annis has been a true servant leader – both for this hospital and this community – for more than a decade and we are grateful,” said Crawford Memorial Hospital Board Chair Von Meeks. “We wish him the very best in the future and thank him for his commitment, dedication and service to Crawford Memorial hospital.”
Annis oversaw a wide range of accomplishments and improvements during his years at CMH. The hospital was recognized by numerous organizations for employee engagement, patient care and quality, including honors from Press Ganey Associates, the Studer Group and Quorum Health Resources, and CMH was named among the nation’s most wired hospitals four years in a row.
Crawford Memorial experienced growth in facilities and services on Annis’s watch. Most notably, CMH successfully completed three significant phases of construction to the hospital, ER and surgery suites. Annis helped the hospital launch a pulmonary rehabilitation program and forged clinical affiliations with Carle Foundation Hospital.
Annis has been an active participant in both his community and industry, serving on boards and committees for the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network, Illinois Rural Community Care Organization, Crawford County Development Association and Robinson Area Chamber of Commerce.
“I have been honored to work with a really fine team of professionals at the hospital, and I am proud of what we have accomplished,” said Annis. “Every patient who comes through our doors can be assured they will receive high quality, compassionate care from professionals who truly care about their health and well-being. Crawford Memorial Hospital is a truly a special place.”
Cindy Bradley brings more than 30 years of hospital experience to Robinson and has spent the last 10 years facilitating leadership transitions for hospitals in New Mexico, North Carolina, Colorado, Oklahoma and Louisiana. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
