ELDORADO, IL – Deaconess Illinois and Ferrell Hospital Foundation will expand their current affiliation relationship beginning in January 2016. The expanded alignment provides long-term management services for Ferrell and a higher level of integration between the two organizations. A stronger and more connected relationship with Deaconess Illinois will produce increased stability and growth opportunities for Ferrell Hospital in Illinois.
Plans for 2016 include an expansion of the general surgery program at Ferrell Hospital, the addition of digital mammography, and continuation of the pain clinic that opened in 2015.
Deaconess Illinois will continue to employ key leaders in the Ferrell organization and support increased access to specialists and outpatient services in Eldorado. “The expanded relationship with Deaconess Illinois will provide our community with an infusion of new resources that will allow patients to get the care they need and deserve, closer to home,” said Dr. Nate Oldham, Chief of Staff, Ferrell Hospital.
“The Ferrell Hospital Board of Directors unanimously agreed to expand the relationship with Deaconess Illinois as it adds value and quality to healthcare provided not only at Ferrell Hospital, but in Saline County and the surrounding area,” added Chairman of the Board for Ferrell Hospital, Gene Morris.
In the coming months, Deaconess Illinois and Ferrell will begin to co-brand services. However, Ferrell Hospital will remain a local, independent hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care to the people in south eastern Illinois. “We have enjoyed building a relationship with Ferrell Hospital and look forward to combining the strengths of our two organizations to enhance the services available in south east Illinois,” said Linda E. White, president and CEO Deaconess Health System.
