Litchfield, Illinois – Brian Quarton, MD, was honored recently in the Family Birth Center at HSHS St. Francis Hospital. The colleagues in the Family Birth Center hosted a special reception to celebrate his more than 15 years of practicing obstetrics.
Elisa Feldmann, RN, Director of the Family Birth Center, said, “Dr. Quarton’s last delivery was in July. Over the past 15 years, he has delivered 276 babies at St. Francis.” Feldmann stated there are four family physicians who still deliver babies in our Family Birth Center, “Dr. Phil Johnson, Dr. Elaine Fisher, Dr. Dan Wujek, and Dr. Ben Cady are all Board Certified Family Physicians who can provide prenatal care, deliver your baby, as well as provide care for your whole family. As the only hospital between Maryville and Springfield with maternity services, I am proud to say we had 250 deliveries last fiscal year. Our Family Birth Center staff work very hard with these physicians to provide the highest level of compassionate, quality care to our patients. This teamwork and effort shows as we consistently score in the 99th percentile on patient satisfaction surveys. We wanted to have this special reception to give staff a chance to visit with Dr. Quarton and to thank him for his many years of service delivering babies at St. Francis. It is great to work with physicians like Dr. Quarton who provide local care to our patients and who live in and support our communities.”
Feldmann said, “While Dr. Quarton will still be providing services at his office in Carlinville and he will have patients to see in our hospital; we knew we would not be seeing him regularly in the Family Birth Center. The staff and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Dr. Quarton these past 15 years.”
