(McLeansboro, Illinois) – The Hamilton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary recently raised $4,024 to purchase two IV pumps needed for inpatient care at Hamilton Memorial Hospital.
“Every year we ask the hospital department directors to help identify items that will assist them in caring for our community, then we put all of our efforts to fund that cause,” said Marilyn Smith, HMH Auxiliary President.
IV pumps are a vital part of inpatient care at Hamilton Memorial Hospital as they allow nursing staff to infuse fluids, medications, or nutrients into a patient’s circulatory system.
“We are very grateful for the tireless work of our Auxiliary to help us improve our hospital. Updating medical equipment is very expensive, but important to the work we do day-in and day-out. Our auxiliary is always looking for ways to help make our hospital better and we appreciate their dedication,” said Greg Sims, Hamilton Memorial Hospital CEO.
Over the past 15 years, the Hamilton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has raised over $82,000 to assist the hospital in purchasing vital medical equipment, funding renovations, and contributing to scholarships.
Upcoming fundraising will be used to purchase two sleeper recliners for families that are staying overnight with patients and a scooter for outpatients and visitors that have difficulty walking.
