Nearly 400 people attended the dedication of Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s new kitchen and dining room this past Sunday, March 15. The ceremony began with a welcome from Patrick L. Molt, M.D., President, FMH Board of Directors, with the dedication and blessing by Dale Warren, Vice President, FMH Board of Directors and Chairman of the Building Committee. After the blessing the ribbon cutting was conducted, tours of the facility were given, and the event ended with everyone enjoying an array of hors d’oeuvres, punch, and gifts of Bentos Salad Bowl given to each visitor in attendance.
“I was absolutely overwhelmed with the enormous crowd who came for the dedication and blessing of our new kitchen and dining room,” stated Dr. Bunting-Williams, Ph.D., FMH CEO.
“With this new kitchen and dining room, we are now complete. Fairfield Memorial Hospital has so many employees who use their skills and talents for healing, and now we are going to offer the healing hands of the dietary and nutritional staff to prepare the food for therapeutic meals for our patients. We will also have a pleasant environment with health conscious meal choices for community members. Everyone will be able to gather and enjoy the meals throughout the day at an affordable price. In addition, this is going to allow our hard working and dedicated employees the ability to sit down, rest from their duties, and benefit from nutritious meals in order to properly reenergize them for the remainder of their shift,” added Dr. Bunting-Williams, Ph.D., FMH CEO.
At this time, the new kitchen and dining room has not received approval from the State of Illinois to occupy the space for the purpose of food preparation and serving of patients and community; however, upon getting approval FMH will quickly move forward in opening their doors and will announce the date it will open at that time.
